A Decade of Innovation
The Evolution
The Genesis
In 2014, TUBE Centre National de Peinture Contemporaine was born from a radical idea: to free contemporary painting from the static confines of the traditional white cube. Established in the heart of Normandy, our initial mission was to create a breathable, dynamic space where art is treated as a living entity. The early years were defined by experimental exhibitions that challenged the boundaries of canvas and space, laying the groundwork for a new institutional approach to painting in France.

Expanding Horizons
As our influence grew, so did our commitment to the artists who breathe life into our walls. Between 2018 and 2021, TUBE expanded its reach internationally, forging partnerships across borders and fostering a diverse cultural dialogue. We launched comprehensive support programs, accompanying creators through every stage of their development. This era marked our transition from a regional gallery to a national center of excellence, dedicated to promoting gender equality and amplifying underrepresented voices in the contemporary art scene.

The Living Gallery
Today, as we celebrate a decade of artistic innovation, TUBE stands at the intersection of institutional prestige and avant-garde exploration. We have embraced ecological consciousness in our curation and operations, ensuring that our impact on the cultural landscape is as sustainable as it is profound. Through the publication of critical works and the continuous evolution of our exhibition spaces, we remain steadfast in our mission: offering the public an enriched, transformative access to the creation of our time.
